En Oaxaca siempre hay música y baile, nunca falta un pretexto para hacer fiesta y por eso quise constatarlo haciendo estas fotografías el día previo a una de las festividades más importantes de Oaxaca (México): La Guelaguetza.
Los dos lunes después del 16 de julio se reúnen todas regiones del Estado para presentar sus bailables y tradiciones en esta fiesta y un día antes realizan un convite que recorre las principales calles, un par de horas antes se van reuniendo todas las delegaciones en un parque de la ciudad para poder ir tomando su lugar, todos se enfocan en atender los últimos detalles, unas hacen arreglos de última hora en sus trajes, otras terminan de corregir su maquillaje, peinado o ceñir bien sus faldas, algunos otros afinan sus instrumentos.
Aún cuando el desfile no ha comenzado, locales y extranjeros ya sienten la alegría, la gente está muy sonriente, las diferentes bandas ya tocan sones y jarabes mientras algunas delegaciones bailan con emoción y orgullo, es mucho el júbilo como para esperar más tiempo, todos saben que son días de festejar, días de música, días de compartir.

There's always a good excuse to bring music and dance to the streets of Oaxaca (Mexico). This time I went out to prove it doing some photographs a day before the Guelaguetza, one of the main feasts in this city where people from the different regions reunites to perform their folk dances and traditions. This event is celebrated on the two Mondays immediately following July 16.
One day before of each Monday, there's a procession along the main streets of Oaxaca. They gather a couple of hours before in order to get ready and take their right positions, some girls do some last minute make up corrections or some others fixes on their dresses, musicians tune their instruments so they can start playing music right away, even before the parade starts because it's a celebration day and everybody want to dance and share their traditions.
